Getting Started

The Shipmates API helps online businesses connect to local couriers in the Philippines. Our goal is to build the logistics infrastructure of the Philippines by providing businesses with the proper tools for all their different needs and use cases.

There are many types of logistics solutions out there for all types of businesses: air and sea freight, trucks, trains, on-demand, same-day, and next-day. For Shipmates, we're focusing on the two readily available logistics solutions out there: on-demand and next-day.

On-Demand: Couriers that can pickup and deliver orders within 1-2 hours.
Next-Day: Couriers that can pickup your orders the next day and ship within 2-7 business days.

When using the Shipmates API, here are the key data models that you need to understand before you go any further.

When you start, you have a Company that's just a representation of you and your business. But your Company will have multiple Shipments under it. A Shipment is a physical item that the courier will pick up and has one tracking number (also known as waybill) associated with it.

Once a Shipment is booked with a courier, the Shipment will create a Shipment Fee that contains the values of the different fees associated per courier. The Shipment's Addresses will also be saved.
